Studio

We call Minneapolis's historic North Loop neighborhood home. It’s where we energize classical design practices with natural, artful materials. We are wild about the joy and deep satisfaction that comes from distilling the unique history and desires behind each space, filling them with those just-right colors, and delivering spaces that invite your true self.

We design interiors for residential and commercial projects, ranging from historic homes, new builds, and boutique hospitality projects. Our diverse projects, spanning coast to coast, can range from a single, special room to an entire home. Tell us about your project.

Anne

Raised by artists and builders, Anne McDonald's was shaped by creativity and play. Beside her sisters, Anne ran free between forest games, basement painting studios, and city art museums, feeling at home wherever exploration was encouraged.

While completeling her Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree, Anne began a life-long pursuit of classical design theory. Her collaborations with experts, including her builder father and a historic paint colorist, developed her expertise in building materials and color theory.

As Anne enters her third decade in interior design, her commitment to functional beauty endures. Holding the tension between history and modernity, Anne continues to ask questions and explore curiously to solve design riddles. Review Anne’s portfolio.

A note from Anne

If we've ever talked about design together, you've heard me say "grounded" or "anchored." Or you may have noticed that look I get in my eye while I clench my fist and pull it toward the Earth, saying "we need this, ya know?"

That thing that provides the feeling of being cozy, safe, loved, and seen - where you can be yourself, without pretenses. I'm wild about chasing that for each of my clients. When you feel anchored in your space, you feel free.
